Dental Health Tips
1. Brush your child’s teeth at least twice per
day, especially right before bedtime!
2. Children should be seen by a pediatric dentist around
age one. Prevention is the best way to avoid cavities!
NEVER put a child to bed with a bottle or sippy cup!
3. Try to avoid giving your child fruit juice. There
is typically more sugar in fruit juice than soda pop!
Rather, offer white milk, water, or any sugar-free alternative.
Beware of juices that advertise they are “100%”
juice, as they are typically loaded with sugar!
4. Children active in athletics should ALWAYS wear
a mouthguard. Let us know when your child is participating
in athletics and we can help!
5. When your child is age six or seven years old, we’ll
typically recommend they receive dental sealants. Preventive
sealants are the best way to keep permanent six-year
molars cavity free!
