The American Dental Association (ADA) is a professional
association of dentists committed to the public's oral
health, ethics, science, and professional advancement.
As the world’s oldest and largest national dental
association, they are the oral health authority committed
to both the public and the dental profession. Formed
in 1859, the ADA currently has over 152,000 members.
American
Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) is
the membership organization representing the specialty
of pediatric dentistry. Its over 6,000 members work
in private offices, clinics, and hospital settings and
serve primarily infants, children, and adolescents and
patients with special needs. Formed in 1947, the AAPD
is the symbol of excellence in practice, education,
and research in pediatric dentistry.
Indiana
Dental Association
The Indiana Dental Association (IDA) represents an organized
commitment for the oral health of the citizens of Indiana
and the profession of dentistry. The IDA is comprised
of 15 component societies, which serve each of Indiana’s
92 counties, and is a constituent society of the American
Dental Association. There are more than 2,800 dentists
in the state of Indiana that are members of the IDA.

Indianapolis
District Dental Society
The IDDS is a professional association of dentists that
is committed to the enhancement of the oral health education
and dental welfare of the public. This society has been
an established tradition of integrity and care since
it was founded in 1878. The Indianapolis District Dental
Society has sponsored numerous dental continuing education
programs letting our area dentists expand their knowledge
in the field through improved technology, intensive
lectures, or hands-on training. More than 700 dentists
are involved in this organization in the nine counties
surrounding Indianapolis.
